During this next week, we will continue our work on the characters. The characters help us to understand what is happening within the story. We will learn that readers don’t just say what they see on the page. They look carefully at the pictures and use them to remember what the characters were doing, saying, and thinking on that page. Readers also consider the feelings of the characters. A reader will stop often and think about how characters say and do thing in their books. These give readers clues to figure out how characters feel.
Please continue to have your child discuss a book you read. Focus on the characters in the story and how important they are to the story. We will continue to revisit many of our "Old Favorites as well.
